A machine can learn knowledge, but experience only becomes valuable when it is shared. At OWASP Korea Day we want to connect people so we can face the sharper threats of the AI era together. Share what you have learned, and the intuition experience has given you. On 28 November, come to OWASP Seoul Korea Day — meet people, and share what you have lived through.
The OWASP Seoul Chapter has been running since 2011. Since the fifth leadership team formed in May 2025, more than 16 monthly sessions and more than 12 conferences have given people in security somewhere to meet each other. 43 talks are archived so far, and all of them are at owasp.org/www-chapter-seoul.

Call for Papers
We are looking for speakers to share current security research and hard-won practice at OWASP Korea Day 2026.
This year’s theme is “Security in the age of AI, the links between us”. A machine can learn knowledge, but experience only becomes valuable when it is shared. Bring what you know and the intuition experience has given you, so we can face the sharper threats of the AI era together.
Topics we are looking for
- AI for Security, Security for AI — LLM security, AI-assisted attack and defence, AI safety and ethics
- Contributing to the community — building and running security open source; sustaining an internal seminar, working group or chapter over time; speaking at or writing for large conferences
- Automating security work — automation with AI, and taking the repetition out of security operations
- Application & web security — OWASP Top 10, DevSecOps, secure coding
- Cloud & infrastructure security — cloud-native security, zero trust, IAM
- Vulnerability research & reversing — recent vulnerability work, exploitation, threat intelligence
- Security as governance — the systems, culture, management and training that let non-technical staff use company IT safely in the age of AI
- Career, org-building, leadership — starting and growing a security team; changing tracks and growing into them
- Workshops / hands-on — sessions where the audience follows along and builds something
- Anything else across cyber security that is useful and goes deep
Format and length
- Length: 20–40 minutes, including Q&A
- Room: Regency Hall, the main stage (400 seats)
- Eight sessions are selected, running from just after the opening to just before the closing.

What to know before you submit
- This is a place to share knowledge, not a sales channel — talks that directly promote a product or service are not accepted.
- Selected speakers get free admission for the day, lunch, and an invitation to the networking dinner with the organisers and contributors.
- Slides are published after the event by default. Tell us in advance if part of your material cannot be shared and we will work it out.
Call for Labs
Not a session people listen to and forget — one they leave having actually done something.
Two two-hour labs run in Delfino Hall, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with everyone working on their own laptop.
Topics we are looking for
- AI and LLM security — reproducing prompt injection, testing LLM applications, designing permissions for AI agents
- Web and application testing — breaking and then fixing the OWASP Top 10 for real
- Cloud security — finding broken IAM, responding to an incident in a cloud-native environment
- Secure coding workshop — fixing vulnerable code yourself
- Reversing and forensics — setting up the tooling together and working real samples
- CTF-style lab — learning the concept by solving for it
Format and length
- Length: two hours
- Room: Delfino Hall (150 seats)
- When: one slot, either 10:30–12:30 or 14:00–16:00
- Design it assuming everyone brings their own laptop.

- Proposals close: 18 October 2026, 23:59 KST — the same day as the Call for Papers.

- The size you want, and how you would run it if more people show up
- How the lab environment is provided — local setup, cloud instances, a pre-built image
- Level and audience — beginner, practitioner, or either
What a lab host gets

Good to know
- A lab lives or dies on preparation. The organisers will rehearse it with you and check the network and power beforehand.
- Sessions that are commercials for a product or service are not accepted. You may use your own tool, but what the room learns has to be the point.
- Selected hosts sign the OWASP speaker agreement; a session whose agreement is unsigned 7 days before the event is cancelled.
- Slides and recordings are published after the event: OWASP members first for two months under OWASP policy, then everyone, within six months of the day.
- There is no speaker fee. Everything raised goes into the event, never to an individual or a company.
Call for Communities
Community applications are closed. Every community that applied hears back individually.
What the call said
Participating communities run their own session room and their own booth. At the booth, they introduce themselves, or run something — a mini game, a giveaway, whatever fits.
How you can take part
- A booth — open all day in Conference Room C.
- A booth and a session room — the booth plus the afternoon community room.
- The form asked for one of the two, or for something else written in.
The community session room
- It runs from the afternoon: Galaxy Hall becomes the participating communities’ room.
- Talks, a mini CTF, a hackathon — whatever you want to run, agreed between the communities sharing the room.
- If you have a better idea, build it.
- We are planning for 300+ attendees, in a space that can hold up to 500.
What a participating community gets
- Your community introduced on the site and in the event material
- The community session room to run, and a booth

- Internet and power strips at the booth

- The community’s name, and a contact — name, phone, email
- Which format, how many are coming, and T-shirt sizes
- What they will run at the booth and in the room — communities still working on it finish it with the organisers after selection.
Call for Volunteers
Volunteer applications are closed. Everyone who applied hears back individually on 30 September.
What the call said
It takes a lot of hands to run a day for 300-odd people. Checking names at the desk, pointing people to the right hall, keeping sessions on time, helping the booths. You end up seeing exactly how a conference runs.
What you would be doing
- Setup — getting the floor and the supplies ready in the morning
- Registration — checking people in at the desk in the main lounge, handing out badges and swag
- Session support — timekeeping, running the mic, helping with Q&A
- Photography — pictures and notes from the floor
- Supplies — keeping track of swag, refreshments and print
- Wayfinding — pointing people to Regency, Galaxy, Delfino and Room C, and keeping the doors flowing
Who we were looking for
- Anyone interested in security or development. Students welcome.
- Available from the morning through to the end of the day
- First time is fine — we will brief you on your role in advance.
